A Comparative Study On Xunzi And Hobbes's Political Philosophy

Xunzi and Hobbes' s political philosophy as the object of study by means of comparative analysis and trying to provide a reference for the construction of a harmonious and stable political order.Xunzi and Hobbes' s political philosophy is a common heritage in the history of Chinese and Western political philosophy.Although two people belong to different times and different regions of the philosopher,The issue of concern is also different,but in essence two people in the construction of political philosophy has a striking similarity.First,in the teleology of political philosophy,Xunzi and Hobbes are committed to building a harmonious and orderly political state,Xunzi wants to use the sage regime to realize the political ideal of the Ming Group;Hobbes wants to use the sage regime to realize the political ideal of the peace.Second,In the political philosophy of human nature,Xunzi and Hobbes are the premise of materialism from cosmology to deduce the similar theory of human nature,the point is that Xunzi from the “evil”,“Pu”,“change humanity by man-made” point of view,Hobbes discussed the possibility and necessity of political management from the people the “natural state”.Third,in the method of political philosophy theory,Xunzi and Hobbes there,and fusion,Xunzi adopted the top-down “longlizhongfa”and “sage regime”,the path of construction,Hobbes uses a bottom-up path to construct the “social contract” and“monarchy”.From the perspective of Skopos theory,the three aspects of human nature,methods of reconstruction of Xunzi and Hobbes' s political philosophy,although the two are different,but the same.Xunzi and Hobbes in history,there are serious disputes,to revaluate the two development in the political philosophy of value,provide a theoretical basis for the ideal of building a harmonious social order,to provide intellectual support for the construction of a harmonious and stable political order,is the purpose of this paper.
