Xiufang Ju is a famous soprano who sang,unscrambled and adapted nearly eighty vocals.Those vocals are distributed over a wide area,which is spread all over the whole country.Includes traditional folk songs,local opera,ancient poetry songs,etc.Her talented works make a great contribution to the Chinese national vocal works.In this paper,three transcriptions made by Xiufang Ju were analyzed.These three vocals are distributed in different areas far from each other and have different styles,which are the fold song from Hequ,ShanXi province;the folk song from Inner Mongolia;and the folk song from Jinshan,Shanghai,respectively.The research methodology includes case studies,inductive approach,and comparative method.All three vocals have been meticulously analyzed the commonness and individuality based on the research methodology and personal singing experiences.There are four main parts in this thesis paper.The first part introduces the personal experiences of Xiufang Ju and the summary of her vocal works.From the second part till the fourth part,the analysis of the original edition and the transcriptions of the three songs mentioned before is focusing on the vocals and singing skills.The analysis is mainly concentrating on the lyrics,musical characteristics(tune,interval,structure,rhythm,tempo,etc.).This paper mainly analyzes the transcriptional music regarding the singing skill.The transcriptions of the three songs are different in perspectives and methods,especially the locations of performing the coloratura phrases or periods.The coloraturas show in between the first and the third periods of Thinking of My Beloved Deep in My Heart.However,in The Little Oriole,the coloratura phrases are not only performed between the first and the third periods but also insert the third periods.A large space of coloratura appears in Which Bird Flies Higher and Higher – both in the latter half of the first period and the whole second period.The adding of coloraturas improves the singing skill and deepen the art of those vocals.
