Teaching material is the medium of teaching activities,a set of good teaching materials should highlight the training of skills.In foreign Chinese teaching,reading class is a course aimed at improving reading skills,the task completion of reading skills is depended on the reading material’ s exercising,so the quality of reading exercise relates directly to the quality of Chinese teaching as a foreign language.According to the degree of Chinese language learners,reading class is divided into three stages : primary reading class,intermediate reading class and advanced reading class,different stages have different training of reading skills.In the process of compiling textbooks exercises,we should highlight the training of different reading skills at various stages,In this thesis,it selects two sets of Chinese reading textbooks which are used frequently and have a great influence,and makes a contrast between the intermediate and advanced stages of the two sets of textbooks.It investigates the type,quality and content of the exercises,and summarizes the characteristics of the two sets of Chinese reading textbooks of intermediate and advanced stages,Based on this,it puts forward the advice of composing the exercises of Chinese reading textbooks.I hope that my endeavor will be useful to the composing of the exercises of intermediate and advanced stage’ s Chinese reading teaching.I hope that this thesis will play a role to attract more concerns of experts studying on the exercises of intermediate and advanced stages of Chinese reading course.
