With the rising of “Chinese fever”,more and more people are learning Chinese all over the world.As oral communication is the most important mean of communication between people,it becomes a crucial part for those who want to learn Chinese well.How to make oral Chinese lessons effective,how to improve students' participation and initiative in oral Chinese lessons,how to substantially improve students' oral Chinese,all these are problems that Chinese as Foreign Language teachers always concerning about.Further more,how to make elementary-level Chinese learners experience the fun of Chinese learning and have the perseverance in it,continue to be a problem for the teachers.In recent years,the Chinese Bridge Competition,as a large-scale international contest,has attracted more and more attention.It's not only an important platform for successful Chinese learners to show their proficiency and capability in Chinese,but also an important window through which can let people from all over the world experience the pleasure of learning Chinese and the rich and profound Chinese culture.Therefore,making the events of the Chinese Bridge competition to be a teaching material for elementary-level oral Chinese learners it's a good way to active classroom atmosphere and stimulate students' interest of Chinese learning.The theoretical basis of this paper are task-based teaching method,game teaching method and Total Physical Response teaching method.The teaching plans in the paper are designed based on the events and the format of the Chinese Bridge Competition.This paper tries to make them to be suitable teaching materials for elementary oral Chinese class,put the teaching plans into practice and give feedback of the teaching efficiency.This paper first analyzes the features of the Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students from position sessions and characteristics of the competition.Then elaborate the necessity and feasibility on compiling the events of the competition to be teaching materials for elementary oral Chinese class.The following chapter targets on making the teaching plans and put them into practice,3 teaching plans are included and all of them are related to daily life.The fourth chapter shows the feedback of the teaching efficiency by participation observation method.The last chapter makes a conclusion and analyzes the shortcomings of the process of the research.This paper aims at improving the participation and initiative of elementary-level Chinese learners in oral Chinese classand hope to enhance students' oral communication ability through making the events of the Chinese Bridge Competition into teaching materials for elementary-level Chinese learners.
