Confucius Institute at Egerton University is the fourth Confucius Institute/ Classroom in Kenya,which is the first Confucius Institute with agricultural characteristics in the world.The opening ceremony was in December,2013.Confucius Institute at Egerton University was founded later and lacks experience,encountering some problems in the process of development.The article is based on the study of Confucius Institute at Egerton University,combined with the basic national conditions in Kenya,regard the other Confucius institutes/C lassrooms in Kenya and international veteran language culture promotion institutions like Alliance Francaise,Goethe Institute as objects,analyzing current developments,problems and reasons of Confucius Institute at Egerton University,then proposes countermeasure and provide reference for the development of other Confucius Institutes with characteristics around the world.There are six sections in the full text.The first chapter: Introduction.This part introduces the origin of research,research status quo,research significance,research methods.The second chapter : The overview of Confucius Institute at Egerton University with agricultural characte ristics.This part describes building background,teaching on language and culture,agricultural technology promotion o f Confucius Institute at Egerton University.The third chapter :Dilemma of Confucius Institute at Egerton University with agricultural characteristics.This chapter summarizes difficulties including shortage of C hinese teac hers,lack of teaching ability for agriculture teachers from aspect of teachers,difficulties including single species of students,serious loss of C hinese students from aspect of students,difficulties including language teaching content is not balanced,the less of agricultural culture teaching from aspect of teaching content,difficulties including the sports facilities are not complete,african people have misunderstandings about cultural exchanges between China and Africa from aspect of teaching environment,difficulties including the social repercussions of C hinese teaching is not strong,the lack of scientific research of agricultural technology cooperation from aspect of teaching effect.The fourth chapter:Analysis of reasons for problems of Confucius Institute at Egerton University.For difficulties of Confucius Institute at Egerton University with agricultural characteristics,this part analyzese the reason for the teacher's dilemma is that the C hinese teachers leave more than enter and there is no uniform standard for agricultural teachers,the reason for the student's dilemma is that the Confucius Institute Scholarship is less attractive and the C hinese course is not rooted,the reason for the difficulty of teaching content is that C hinese textbooks are inappropriate and agriculture is materialized,the reason for teaching environment is that Confucius Institute lacks funds and intercultural communication has obstacles,the reason for the difficulty of teaching effect is that the propaganda of Confucius Institute is not strong and the degree of agricultural technology approval is greater than the demand.The fifth chapter:Development strategy for Confucius Institute at Egerton University with agricultural characteristics.Through comparative analysis and the overall thinking,the author puts forward related development countermeasures on the difficulties of teachers,the difficulties of students,the difficulties of teaching content,the dilemma of teaching environment and the dilemma of teaching effect,and provide reference for the development of other Confucius Institutes with characteristics around the world.The sixth chapter: Summary of the article.
