The globalization of English inevitably accompanies its extensive localization in various countries.China English,as a variety of English, has its own characteristics when used by Chinese people.China claims to have the largest number of English learners on the global scale. Therefore,it is necessary to investigate China English. This not only can improve the ability of the second language acquisition of Chinese English learners, but also can be beneficial for the introduction of Chinese cultures in English. This thesis aims to address the features of evaluative adjectives and their collocations with nouns in China English. In order to achieve the research objectives,a self-made Micro China English corpus is established and the COCA serves as the referent corpus. The major findings of the research are as follows: 1)According to the frequency of the adjective-noun collocations in the two corpora, these collocations can be divided into two groups: relatively high frequency collocations and unique collocations in China English.2)High frequency adjective-noun collocations include new policy, major country, new village, significant progress, important thought,etc.3)Collocations like leading cadre, important platform, top legislature, and important consensus belong to the unique collocations in China English.4)The features of adjective-noun collocations in China English include: some collocations are experiencing a semantic shift;and the unique collocations in China English come from the fixed Chinese way of expressions and the thinking model of Chinese people;some even originate from the unique politics, organizations, and economy in China. They all reflect the various aspects of China in politics, economics, cultures and society.5)The current ECLDs have some deficiencies in the performance of the adjective-noun collocation information. The number of adjective-noun collocations is far more enough.Fewer effective ways for representing collocation information are adopted. And the domestic ECLDs fail to meet the specific needs of Chinese users when they want to express things with Chinese characteristics. Finally, after the investigation of the performance of collocation information in current ECLDs,some suggestions for the representation of adjective-noun collocations of China English in ECLDs are put forward based on the theory of World Englishes and Meaning-driven Multidimensional Definition Theory.
