A Report On Simulated Interpretation For The Anti-corruption Documentary Always On The Road From The Perspective Of Cognitive Overloading Theory

Based on the Chinese-English interpretation for the first episode What's People's Feeling of the anti-corruption documentary Always on the Road,this report introduces,analyzes and summarizes the interpreting task.Supported by theories of Seleskovitch's Paris School of Theorie Du Sens and Daniel Gile's cognitive overloading and in light of features of documentary,the report introduces interpreting strategies such as gist concentration,contextual deduction and reconstruction of sentence in order to minimize the cognitive overloading in the interpreting task.Then some problems in this interpretation are analyzed and solutions provided.The results of this practice report may have some implications for future interpretation practice and study.The report is composed of four chapters.The first chapter introduces the theories which support the interpreting practice.The second chapter briefly talks about the preparation before the interpretation,including getting to know the theme and content of this interpretation and predicting the difficult points that may appear.The third chapter analyzes typically difficult sentences for interpretation and gives corresponding target language via the application of overload-reducing interpretation strategies.The fourth chapter summarizes the strengths and inadequacies of this interpretation practice with particular emphasis on the adoption of overload-reducing interpreting strategies for political documentaries.
