The period of Wei, Jin and Northern-Southern Dynasties is a decisive period of the development of Chinese language. It is the transitional period of the transition from Archaic Chinese to Middle Ancient Chinese. It is not only the beginning of the study of Chinese phonetics, but also the stage of further development of semantics study. Therefore, this period has an important role in the study of Chinese language history.This thesis takes the dialects of Wei, Jin and Northern-Southern Dynasties except vulgar words and minority languages as the object of study, and analyzes the systematization of the dialect semantics with synchronic and diachronic research. This thesis includes the following six chapters.The first chapter, as an introduction, defines the scope of the material collection in this issue, expounds the study significance, research methods and theoretical basis of this article, and combs the existing research results related to this subject.The second chapter mainly gives a brief description of Wei, Jin and Northern-Southern Dynasties' dialects. This issue divided dialect area into 9 regions according to Li Shuhao's division based on Guopu's annotation of dialects in Jin Dynasty, and took these 9 regions as research object. After that, this issue finished the following work in this chapter: analyzed the origin of dialects from material source and historical source; analyzed the part of speech and the word formation of the dialect; used statistics on the use of dialects and makes a brief analysis of the high frequency words; analyzed the polyphony of dialects briefly.The third chapter analyzes the semantic system of dialects in the Wei, Jin,Northern-Southern Dynasties from the perspective of meaning. Refer to the classification of "er'ya", the meaning category of the 739 Wei, Jin,Southern and Northern dialects is divided into 8 categories and 25 subclasses. The semantic field of the dialects is analyzed and its semantic features has been described.The fourth chapter describes the interpretation system of dialect words in the Wei,Jin, Northern-Southern Dynasties from the perspective of interpretation metalanguage.This thesis analyzes the interpretation terminology, interpretation language and the interpretation methods of the dialects, and summarized the interpretation methods as four types: the literal interpretation type, the definition type and the type tracing back to the source. Finally, on the basis of extracting the interpretation metalanguage gave a synonymous basic interpretation mode and 2 descriptive basic interpretation mode.The fifth chapter describes and analyzes the homologous words in the dialects of the Wei, Jin and the Northern-Southern Dynasties according to rhyme with existing homologous words theory.The sixth chapter analyzes the diachronic evolution of the dialects in the Wei,Jin and the Northern-Southern Dynasties, mainly analyzes the change of the dialects area and the change of the meaning. The changes of the dialects area include transformation from common language to dialect, transformation from dialect to common language and regional transfer. The change of semantic includes the expansion, reduction and transfer of semantic.
