Chinese spoken language teaching has a place in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In some respects,it also reflects the Chinese language proficiency of second language learners.Discourse marking,as an important means to enrich spoken Chinese,enables the second language learners to speak more idiomatically and smoothly.Therefore more attention should be paid by the researchers of Chinese as a foreign language.However,the popular oral Chinese teaching materials nowadays emphasize more on the accumulation of vocabulary,and the grammar and syntax teaching.Although discourse markers are more or less mentioned,no systematic analysis of language points has been conducted yet.And that is the direction of the paper.This paper chooses “X ?”,a common and typical example of discourse marker on the basis of which the semantic analysis was carried on in detail,and counted the frequency of such discourse markers in three relatively authoritative oral teaching course books for intermediate and advanced students.Afterwards,according to the analysis,respectively for the usage of the discourse marker“X ?”and the semantic function of it in ontology research,the author summarizes some problems that demands attention in the process of teaching materials compiling.Finally,the paper puts forward some practical suggestions.As for the oral teaching materials compiling,textbooks are supposed to have more discourse markers scientifically arranged,present the corresponding semantic functions in different contexts,systematize relevant language points,increase the proportion of dialogue,and add questions that bring students to real situations.While for the development of teaching activities,some measures need to be taken to raise the awareness of discourse markers for foreign students,actively create a good teaching environment and select appropriate teaching methods.Combined with the relevant teaching design,the ultimate purpose is to contribute to the study of Chinese spoken language teaching.
