The Research About The Semantic System Of The "Qian" Radicals About Geography In Shuo Wen

Shuo Wen Jie Zi,written by Xu Shen in Eastern Han Dynasty,is the first book in China systematically analyzing word forms,explaining meanings,identifying pronunciation.It is also the first real dictionary in the history of our country and its text and interpretation are all derived from “Liu Yi Qun Shu”,which indicates that the collation of Chinese characters is a summary of the Chinese vocabulary on the basis of the corpus.Xu Shen created the new style and used 540 parts to control 9,353 Chinese characters and arranged the words with similar form or similar meaning.At the same time,he holds that the methods of making Chinese characters can be divided into six types: pictograph,self-explanatory,understanding,echoism,phonetic loan,mutually explanatory.Radical type also reflects the type of vocabulary system and it is the division of the semantic field constitution system,which is also the theoretical basis of establishing semantic relation and semantic field on analyzing the character “Qian”group.Because Shuo Wen can explain the meaning of each release word do parts relationship(including main precepts,add words before and after the word),the thesis extracts the sememe formula,and distinguishes semanteme levels and builds semantic field,sub field.This thesis contains five sections.The first section is introduction,which mainly introduces the research basis,research purpose and significance of this paper,the research status,research methods and some notes about this thesis.The second section ranges over the original meaning of 4 radicals about the character “Qian” group in Shuo Wen.The thesis starts with each word form of character based on the four experts and others' writings and combines with the examples of ancient Chinese literature in order to explore the original meaning of the character “Qian” group and extract the semanteme and form sememe formulas.The third section classifies the according to the semantic group and discriminates the synonyms in the semantic field and constructs the sememe analysis table and sorts out the semantic field system of the character “Qian” group.The fourth section explains the semantic field type andsystem features of the character “Qian” group and makes the specific instructions,which can clearly see the type of the semantic field.The fifth section is conclusion,which summarizes the paper's writing system,conclusion and the limitation of the thesis.It puts forward some problems of the thesis hopes that other scholars will put forward some valuable suggestions.
