On The Ideology Of Ecological Socialism Of Saral Sarkar

Since the 1960 s,contradiction between the industrial economy and the resource has been escalating,and the ecological problem has turned for worse,both the normal human life and the development of economic are facing the severe environmental crisis and even survival crisis since the industrial civilization.Many scholars have analyzed this problem and put forward some solutions,Pepper,Gorz and O’Conner put forward their own ecological ideas,and the ecological socialism emerged.Sarah Sarkar is a representative personage of ecological socialism,according to the failure of Soviet socialist model and the crisis of capitalism,he puts forward a new way of ecological socialism.This paper analyzes Sarkar’s theory based on "Eco-socialism or Eco-capitalism" which includes the main idea of Sarah Sarkar from four aspects.The first chapter mainly analyzes the source of Sarkar’s thoughts,analyzing the thought of Marx and Engel which Sarkar inheriting,Frankfurt school critical theory.Malthusian theory of population and Gandhiism,expounding the origins of the formation of ecological socialism.In the second chapter,Sarkar criticize drawbacks of Soviet and the capitalism based on the limit paradigm of the growth,Analyzing the failure of Soviet model from economy and moral.Criticizing the capitalist industrial economy and clarifying the reason why the capitalism cannot solve the ecological crisis.Sarkar believes that unrestricted growth is the inevitable cause of the ecological crisis.The two systems are two variants of the industrial economy under the guidance of the growth paradigm,they cannot coexist with the ecological environment and solve the ecological problems.The third chapter mainly elaborates Sarkar’s theory of radical ecological socialism which could solve the ecological problem.Sarkar’s ecological thought mainly inherited the thought of equality between human and nature,expounded the harmony value between socialist and ecological economic,created a unique ecological socialism road with new ecological culture and ecological morality.Ecological socialism society promotes ecological democracy,developing ecological awareness,advocating steady-state economy,creating small-scale economic system with low power consumption.The fourth chapter analyzes the thought of Sarkar,he analyzed the relationship between ecology and the system.The ecological crisis is linked with the real values of socialism for the first time,and the future of socialism has been affirmed.Sarkar inherited and developed the ecological thoughts ofpredecessors,on the other hand,Sarkar regarded ecological problems as political problems and created new ecology political ideas on the basis of social reality,which has high theoretical value.In addition,Sakar’s thought also has some limitations,such as the one-sidedness of his view point,ignoring the progress of science and technology.We should absorb the reasonable aspect of Sarkar’s thought,expand the vision of contemporary world ecology by exploring the ecological thinking of Sarah Sarkar,which would has great influence on China’s environmental protection and economic development.
