Environmental Behavioral Mechanism Research Of Island Folklore Continuation Under The Background Of Urbanization

The island folklore is formed and developed in the social practical process on generations of working people. It condensed the experience and wisdom of people on practice.Under the background of urbanization, in this paper,we make a field survey based on Xiaolian island of Fujian province. Combining with relevant domestic and abroad research results of folklore and with the use of environmental behavioral theory , this paper conducts research of island folklore continuation, trying to explain continuation and inheritance mechanism of island folklore and further illustrating the social function roll played by island folklore continuation. This paper could help us understand the social impact of folklore continuation and could better serve social life.This paper illustrates the environmental behavioral mechanism of island folklore continuation in detail. Firstly, after determining focusing question, according the relevant domestic and aboard research results,this paper summarizes the development and research condition of folklore from two aspects of island folklore and environmental behavioral theory.Secondly, from the view of research background, the urbanization of Xiaolian Island is mainly characterized in two aspects of island’s industrial structure updating and urbanization of islander’s lifestyle. Even though island’s social condition has undergone great changes,there are still many traditional folklore being fully inherited. As the classification basis of behavioral implementation environment, island folklore is mainly expressed as the field of people’s production and livelihood. As an important spiritual representation of folk culture,Religious beliefs run thoroughly in the course of production and livelihood, and regulate people’s external behavior. By analyzing running mechanism of folklore behavior internal sections, such as marine fishing, funeral, ancestor worship and marriage etc, we think that internal sections of a single folklore affair are independent and interacted. Normal exercise of every sections’ function enables that folklore affair plays a positive roll on culture, education,restraint, security and entertainment. Therefore, folklore can be utilized by people and continued up to now.
