| As we all know,English writing ability is an important part of students’ language competence.It plays an important role in daily life.However,the author finds that most non-English major students are not interested in English writing,and many English teachers do not pay much attention to writing teaching,their teaching methods are obsolete and inefficient.So the author constructs an English writing teaching model based on Mind Mapping,and proves its feasibility and effectiveness by experiment.The research subjects are two classes(N=76)from Bowen College of Management Guilin University of Technology.The author uses writing tests,questionnaires and interviews to explore the utility of this writing teaching model.(1)Whether this model can improve students’ writing achievement or not;(2)Whether it can raise students’interest in English writing;(3)Which group is this model more suitable for,the high-score group,the middle-score group or the low-score group?The results show that under this English writing teaching model,students in experimental class get higher scores than the ones in control class,and their general attitudes towards English writing have positive changes.And there are significant differences of three groups’ improvement.The results prove that this model is more suitable for students in the middle-score group and low-score group.According to the results,the author presents some implications for teachers and students.Because of the limitations of this research,some suggestions for future researches are presented at the end of this thesis. |
