An Experimental Research Into Language Coding Aptitude Training's Impacts On English Vocabulary Memory

In this study,the method of experimental study is adopted to explore the influences of language coding aptitude training on the following three aspects,namely sensitivity to English vocabulary,methods of improving vocabulary memory and improvement of vocabulary memory abilities.Basic processes of the training are as follows: On the basis of giving full considerations to language level and abilities of the experimental group members,the researcher designs a workable operation framework and content to carry out the training,according to related theories and practical form in the results of previous studies on language coding ability.The specific content of the training are divided into the following three parts:(1)combination of letters,spelling rules of words composed of special pattern of phonetics and relations among words;(2)finding out the rules through classification,contrast and association of words in sounds,forms,meanings and so on;(3)training the methods of memorizing vocabulary,such as memorization,maintain,recognition and reproduce according to the rules of language coding related found in the early phase so as to improve vocabulary memory abilities.The training lasts for twelve weeks and the above three parts of training contents are implemented in three stages.The first part of training contents is done in the first four weeks;the second part in the middle four weeks and the third part in the last four weeks.The operation steps of this experiment are as follows: First of all,a random sampling method is used to choose 100 students majoring in English and Newspaper and Law from Chengnan School of Changsha University of Science and Technology as subjects,who are then distributed two pieces of test paper for language coding ability and English vocabulary memory.After statistical analysis,experimental group and control group consisting of four members respectively are selected whose language coding ability and English vocabulary memory are almost the same.The experimental training of language coding aptitudes is carried out on experimental group members on the basis of fully understanding their learning situation,while the control group doesn't join in the training.In the early,and middle stage ofthe training and after the training,the experimental and control group's pre/post-test changes in language coding abilities,English vocabulary memory and extracurricular learning situation are investigated by quantitative survey and tests.And then the researcher employs SPSS22.0 to make descriptive statistical analysis and T-test differential analysis on above quantitative data.At the same time,qualitative data are collected by using the methods of qualitative survey,such as interviews,observation diary and leaning logs,which are used to verify the reliabilities of the analytical results of quantitative data,the reasons of which are analyzed as well.Thereby,the following questions can be understood: after the training,whether there are significant progresses in experimental group's language coding abilities,vocabulary memory,vocabulary learning attitudes\motivation and autonomous learning abilities;whether there are significant differences between the experimental group and control group;why these differences exist.The research results show that the experimental results verify the hypotheses the researcher proposes for the experimental study.There are significant differences before and after the experiment in experimental group members' four indicators---language coding aptitudes,English vocabulary memory,vocabulary learning attitudes\motivation and autonomous learning abilities.Although the control group is slightly improved in above aspects,the numerical value of the increase is significantly lower than that of the experimental group,and especially there is no significant difference before and after the experiment.Thus the training for improving language coding aptitudes is helpful to improve the sensitivity to language vocabulary and can also enrich and expand the ways of English vocabulary memorization,from which English vocabulary memory is significantly improved.The research results also fully explain that through the language coding ability training,after the experiment,the experimental group members: 1)have stronger vocabulary memory and are more sensitive to the combination of letters;2)not only have more interests in vocabulary memory,but also improve their effectiveness of vocabulary learning and have much stronger autonomous vocabulary learning abilities;3)have a significant improvement in vocabulary learning motivation and get better understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses in the vocabulary memory.Enlightenments from the successful training are as follows: Each student is anindependent individual and has different vocabulary learning habits and memory habits.Therefore it is very necessary to help students understand their own advantages and disadvantages in the study.At last,the writer,according to the training experiences and survey results,puts forward some suggestions on the following: how to understand the individual differences of students and carry out a personalized vocabulary learning guidance to them,how to help students develop good learning habits and get used to using more effective vocabulary learning and memory methods.
