A Study Of Gods In Xiaoyi County In Qing Dynasty

In this paper,the study of the gods in the Xiaoyi County in the Qing Dynasty was mainly carried out from three parts.The first part,through the analysis of the 144 temple records of local chronicles,inscriptions and other document literature,thinks that the peak of the gods faith in Qing Dynasty Xiaoyi County is mainly in the middle and late period of Qing dynasty,the space is mainly concentrated in the west,southwest and northwest of the country town,and putting it in the context of the natural environment and the development of society as a whole,analyzes the causes of the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics.The second part,analyzes the six most popular gods in Lord Guan,Dragon King,Dongyue God,Guanyin Bodhisattva,Longtian God,and Er-Lang God of the Qing Dynasty in Xiaoyi County,which mainly analyzes these gods` functions,other gods worshiped in these gods`temples and the spatial distribution and etc in the Qing Dynasty in Xiaoyi County.The third part,mainly through the analysis of relevant inscriptions,studies the organizers and reasons of building temples in Xiaoyi County in Qing Dynasty,further analyzes the characteristics of the gods` belief in the Qing Dynasty Xiaoyi County:many villages build temples together,the situations that one village has one temple is more and the situation that one village has many temples is less,the gods have extensive functionality,the belief is utilitarian,three or two religious merging into one.
