With the rapid development of China's economy, the economic activities between China and other countries are becoming increasingly frequent, and more and more Chinese enterprises have stepped on the world stage. In order to ensure the smooth progress of trade activities and safeguard the interests of all parties, the business contract, as an important legal basis, has become an indispensable part of business activities. English, as an international language, is widely used in various types of business contracts, making people pay more attention to the C-E translation of business contracts. Although many scholars have realized the importance of business contracts translation, and have put forward relevant theories and translation strategies, there still remain deficiencies.Therefore, the study of C-E translation of business contracts still has significant value.During the graduate years,it is really a great honor for me to participate in the translation project, and the original material is a purchase and sale contract commissioned by a company. The business contract involves the knowledge of business English and legal translation, which has great research value as well as practical significance. On the basis of the translation project, this report discusses the issues and difficulties of translation at the lexical, sentimental, and discoursal levels, analyzes the reasons behind them and provides corresponding solutions. Guided by three major translation principles, the author summarizes different translation strategies: addition and omission, conversion of word classes and sentence patterns, diction and use of synonyms, which help to make sure the translation faithful to the original text. It is hoped that through the translation practice and research, this report summarizes the differences between Chinese and English business contracts, put forward relevant translation strategies, and provide implication for the practice and research of other business contracts translation.
