The Higher Vocational Education in China, originally formed in the 1980s, has trained millions of applied talents for over 30 years. Nowadays, the higher education field develops rapidly and the notion of Service Goal is carried out into daily training.The aim of Higher Vocational Education is to cultivate high skilled technicians.Simultaneously, with the globalization, requirements on English for the Higher Vocational students, especially for the students majoring in Service Industry, have increased with the current development, so is the case of the situation of the English teaching. Teaching in Higher Vocational Schools should not only emphasis on professional knowledge and skills, but also take English seriously and combine the students' personal requirements with career needs. Although the corresponding policy and measures have been made, the English teaching efficiency is still low, due to the various outer and inner factors. Therefore, it is of great significance to make an experimental study on Modular Teaching of English in a vocational school. It does not only help us to train the qualified employees, but also improve higher vocational education quality and achieve sustainable development. In this paper, two classes of students of Hotel Service and Management of Suzhou Industrial Park Industrial Technology School are chosen as the research subjects. By optimizing the teaching materials, through the questionnaire and comparison between the experimental class and the control class, the contrasts are used to verify the Modular Teaching in students'learning interests, learning methods, capability of Autonomous Learning, language skills and scores. Meanwhile, combine Modular Teaching with Service Industry to improve effectiveness, thus the results can provide some experience in the innovation of English teaching in Service Major, and also contribute to the improvement of English teaching in other majors in Higher Vocational Schools in China.
