"yueX……yueY" is a frequently used sentence pattern in modern Chinese language.It is not only widely used in daily life, but also in music, film and television, crosstalk and literature. The academic has achieved fruitful results about this sentence pattern both in the study of syntax and semantics while relatively deficient in the study of pragmatics.On the basis of previous studies and plentiful language materials, this paper systematically describes the sentence pattern from syntax, semantics to pragmatics in order to deepen the understanding towards it.From the view of syntax, "yueX……yueY" can be divided into two types:correlatively conventional complex sentence and correlatively compressed complex sentence. They behave different in syntactic function. We've done a comprehensive description and analysis of its common form and emphatically discuss the syntactic functions of "yueX” and "yueY” · Besides, we've made a detailed description towards the property of components and syllable numbers of “X" t“ Y ” and revealed the rules it contains. We also clarify the' effect they exert on the independent and dependent relationship between the correlation terms before and after when they co-occur in a sentence. Viewing from the sentence features, the order of " yueX " and “ yueY " can not be changed. The associated words co-occurred with the latter "yue " can be "ye " "jiu ""cai" " que". In addition, there are three variant forms of “ yueX" " yueY ": continuous expansion, front clause expansion, back clause expansion and front and back clause expansion. The paper also analyzes the features and grammatical functions of the construction "yueV1 yueV2" .From the view of semantics, the independent and dependent conditional sentence"yueX……yueY" mainly features in the conditional and resulting relationship between"X " and "Y" ,including forward and backward. Besides, the correlation terms " X "and " Y" must be quantifiable no matter they are verbs, adjectives or verb phrases,adjective phrases. Furthermore, the correlation terms " X" and " Y " must be predicative.The independent variable " yueX" and the dependent variable " yueY " can be converted from each other.From the view of expressive function, the independent and dependent conditional sentence "yueX,yueY" possesses ideational function (independent and dependent condition), textual function, and interpersonal function. There are three major textual functions: cohesion of sentence pattern, topic progression and topic recall. Two major interpersonal functions: trigger expected information and state evaluation stance.
