A Study Of On-line Dictionary Based On Memory Theory

As the development of internet,it becomes easy to get access to the network to fulfill the need of work or life.At the meanwhile,the equality of mobile terminal gets stronger and stronger while the price gets lower and lower,all this makes more choices for people to own network connections,like pad,mobile phone and smart-watch.Thanks to the mobile terminal,the society is becoming a whole network and affects life of people in the aspect of payment,social activity,entertainment and learning.Although dictionary plays a important role for the English as a Foreign Language learner,but the traditional paper dictionary shows some drawbacks like update after a long time,inconvenient to take along,and clumsy to look up a word.With the help of mobile network and mobile terminal,the Online-dictionary gets more and more attention from English vocabulary learners,it becomes common to find that English vocabulary learners prefer to look up a word by Online-dictionary than the traditional paper one.Standing on this reality,the thesis based on memory theory,especially the Standard memory model,to find out the way of designing a Online-dictionary.The answer is Wordaily.Whether the design idea or the learning system show the principle of memory theory.And finding out the defects of Wordaily so as to show the way of developing Online-dictionary is also the purple of this thesis.Wordaily is the work of ShenZhen Zhongkejiashi Educational Corporation who spends half a year to design it.As a membership of the team,I take part in the whole process including planing,designing,developing and testing.So,the thesis acts as the summary of the work to discuss the success and lose so as to come up some suggestions for other developers.
