A Study On Styles,Characteristics And Interpretation In Performance Of The Clarinet Music《Hommage A M.de Falla》by Bela Kovacs

Manuel de Falla y Matheu,a well-known Spanish musician,is one of the most representative figure of the musical nationalism of the 20th century.Free from the shackles of his time,he has created lots of great works with strong local features by adopting the French impressionism which was highly controversial in his time.Bela Kovacs is a famous Hungarian composer,clarinetist and educator.Unlike Falla,he composes "Hommages for Clarinet Solo" through imitation,among which is "Hommage a M.de Falla",one of the most widely-admired works then.The thesis is made up of 3 parts:description of the formation of Falla’s composing style;analysis of the musical noumenon and the original work of Falla on a comparative basis as well as the difficulties the author encountered in practices and the reflections that followed.It is hoped that the thesis can be of some value in guiding and helping the future clarinetists.
