| About the 19 thcentury,the Nine Emperor Gods Festival with the immigration from Fujian minnan people in China had spread to the area where is the south-east Asia counties,including Thailand.The Phuket area of the southern Thailand is located in the south of Thailand,and it’s adjacent to Malaysia.This point results that many immigrants are mostly engaged in the industry of tin and rubber planting,so that it forms a group by the minnan Chinese group in a race.It results more fully inherits the Nine Emperor lent culture and related customs.After one hundred years of heritage and development of this festival,the Phuket town has evolved into one of Thailand’s traditional festival,such aspects as material,community,expression and values.These characters shows the unique characteristics.Maybe,these characteristics are not only the Nine Emperor Gods Festival lent into the Thailand local society and results the product of development and evolution,but also it is the continuous extension of festival culture connotation,function meaning and an important symbol.The Festival has been developed and mixed to be the one of significant traditional festival in Phuket,Thailand.The exploration targets of this paper is the features and functional meanings of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival in Phuket,Thailand.Combining the field survey in Charon community of Phuket town,the paper is divided into six chapters: the introduction part narrates the reason of my choice,research status,innovation and difficulties.The first chapter says the origin of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival,rituals and activities.The aim is to analyze the basic information of Charon community in the Phuket town.The second chapter summarize the features of this festival and it is how to carry out and emphasize the meaning of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival.The third chapter analyzes the function.The fourth chapter explores the negative factors and the reasons why the Nine Emperor Gods Festival,s development,and puts forward more useful measures and suggestions.Conclusion,summarizes and concludes the full text. |
