The Lost Landscape is an autobiographic memoir of Joyce Carol Oates. Its focus is upon the "landscape" of her earliest and most essential lives. This translation project includes three articles of The Lost Landscape: Mommy & Me, "They All Just Went Away"and The Long Romance. Mommy & Me describes the background of one snapshot of the writer and her mother. "They All Just Went Away" depicts a tragic story of the Judds, and expresses the sympathy to American underclass and the criticism towards male violence. The Long Romance sketches the long romance of her parents, and expresses the very thought of them. The selected articles are of the writer’s personal writing style, the translator tries to make a study of style reproduction and the translation strategy under the guidance of style reproduction theory.Based on the translation practice, the translator writes the translation report. The report includes five parts: Part One briefly introduces the writer, the translation project and the significance of it. Part Two briefly introduces the translation process, including translation preparation, translating process and issues after translation. Part Three analyzes the style of the text from the level of micro and macro. Part Four elaborates the difficulties and solutions of style reproduction from the aspects of lexicon, syntax and rhetoric under the theory of style reproduction. Part Five concludes with the conclusion of the translation process.
