The reader will use the context information to find an antecedent for the pronoun, and then complete the pronoun resolution.During this process, there are two factors affecting the pronoun resolution: syntactic and semantic. One is syntactic factors, another is semantic factors. In the semantic factors, the implicit causality of verbs as the semantic features of interpersonal verbs, which plays an important role in pronoun resolution.Implicit causality is an attribute of the verb, which implies the behavior or attitude of the object. The process of verb implicit causality in pronoun resolution has always been the focus of sentence research, and based on previous studies, there are two theoretical perspectives: focusing hypothesis and integration hypothesis.Different researchers use different languages as research materials, and their research results support different theoretical hypotheses, and the research on Chinese as the main experimental material is inadequate. Therefore,on the basis of previous studies, this study continues to explore the effects of the verb's implicit causality on pronoun resolution, and whether this effect supports the focusing hypothesis or the integration hypothesisThis study consists of two experiments,The purpose of Experiment 1 is to explore the effect of implicit causality verb on pronoun resolution, and which the impact occurs the specific time.In this study,30 participants were randomly assigned to participate in the design of the subjects of the study 2(verb tendency: NP1-biased verbs / NP2-biased verbs)×2(sentence type: consistency / inconsistency). The results show that the response time and reading time of the inconsistent sentences are significantly longer than the consistent sentences; When reading the first half sentence, there is no significant difference between the consistent sentences and the inconsistent sentences; When reading the second half of the sentences, the time of reading the inconsistent sentences are significantly longer than the reading consistent sentences. The purpose of experiment 2 is to explore the time course of the verb' s implicit causality in pronoun resolution, which is support focusing hypothesis or integration hypothesis. The experiment 2 used eye movement recording technique,30 participants were randomly assigned to participate in the design of the subjects of the study 2(verb tendency:NP1-biased verbs/NP2-biased verbs)×2(sentence type:consistency/ inconsistency),The experiment 2 is allowing the subjects to read the key sentences, and collecting the eye movement index of the subjects. The results show that there is no significant difference at the verb and the pronoun; At the pronoun, the total dwell time of the NP2-biased verbs are significantly faster than the NP1-biased verbs and the regression path duration of the inconsistent sentences are significantly longer than the consistent sentences. At the end of the sentence, the total dwell time of the inconsistent sentences are significantly longer than the consistent sentences. The conclusion is that the implicit causality of the verb does affect the pronoun resolution, showing the consistency effect, which occurs in the second half of the sentence;Compared to the NP2-biased verbs, the effect of the NP2-biased verbs are more obvious to the pronoun resolution; The effect of implicit causality on the pronoun resolution does not occur immediately, but is a process of delayed processing, which is the result of integrating the two clauses at the end of the sentences. The results support the integration hypothesis.
