Adoption is a way to remedy the crisis in bloodline and supplement the blood relations.In the clan society,humans have used this method to remedy the defect that has no descendants.With the continuous development of human society,longing for a male offspring imple this mechanism plays regulatory role constantlyin the development of the society.There are always adoptionphenomenons in the ancient society and there are obvious provisions in their laws,but the application of this mechanism is more profoundinancient Rome.Although adoption is a kind of family behavior,for Roman,it is closely related to the normal operation of Rome society,and plays an important role in the political life of Rome.With the continuous development of the Republic of Rome,the adoption became a means of political struggle from a family behavior gradually,especially in the late Republic,it is closely related to the turbulent political situation of Rome.Therefore,this article attempts to analyze the operation and influence of this mechanism in Roman's family and politics from the perspective of Rome aristocracy's adoption phenomenon.This paper is divided into four chapters: the first chapter mainly explains the reasons why the aristocracy choose to adopt,mainly from the perspective of legal origin,family values,religious customs,and political reasons;the second chapter analyzes the adoption pattern of Rome,mainly including adoption,adrogation and testamentary adoption;the third chapter mainly analyses the characteristics of the aristocracy's adoption;the fourth chapter makes a simple evaluation on the function of the mechanism in the society of Rome,mainly from three aspects,namely the family,nation and law level.
