Rural Figures In Li Peifu's Novel

From the middle of 1980 to today,Li Peifu has paid attention to the YuZhong Plain for more than 30 years in his novel since he found his territory in writing.There are two kinds of vernacular narrative characteristics in his novel.Firstly,the narrative pattern of distribution is not balanced between urban and rural areas and the rural narrative is obviously better than city life.Secondly,under the joint action of emotional and rational thinking,Li Peifu presents his attachment and criticism for the country and its people in central plains at the same time.Li Peifu has engaged in writing for many years and his creation level has been in a constant state of promoting.In the different period,Li Peifu created some same country character images and their contrast also implied his ascension in the writing performance.Therefore,this article aims to analyze the rural characters who are representative in Li Peifu's novel and then to explore their survival philosophy and mental illness which has caused their tragic destiny through the close reading method systematically.The full text composes of three chapters,respectively from the type,living environment and survival philosophy of rural character in the novel and the unique artistic technique Li Peifu has used to depict the rural people to unfold the argument.The first chapter mainly includes two parts,the relationship between Li Peifu's rural experience and his literary creation as well as the types of rural characters in his novel.The first part mainly explores Li Peifu's rural experience and its intrinsic connection with literary creation.Li Peifu's rural experience came from some special links with the countryside in his life and his country experience also directly influenced his literary creation.His unique rural experience not only provided him with rich creating resources,but also nourished his self-confidence in creation.In order to realize the breakthrough of creation,Li Peifu often needs to add the fresh feeling of country life because his writing greatly depends on the rural experience.The second part mainly talks about the people who stick to the land or leave the land.The former includes all kinds of village officials,rural women images and the disabled images;the latter mainly includes the people who have leaved country to city,for example the politicians,businessmen,intellectuals and the migrant workers at the bottom of city.The different kinds of rural images not only show Li Peifu's sentimental attachment to central plains,but also hide his deepest concern for rural people.The second chapter can be divided into two parts,which includes survival environment and survival philosophy of the rural people.The first part shows the survival environment or rural people in Li Peifu's novel.By reading his novel carefully,we can find material deficiency is the main survival problems that the rural people could not avoid.The objective reasons for poor people contain the special geographical and climate conditions as well as the special political environment in the central plains.At the same time,the underlying hierarchy which has damaged the normal interests of the country people in the central plains village has also increased their poverty.Besides,the deformation of patriarchal clan under the intervention of regime has also added obstacle for the development of the rural people.The second part mainly discusses the unique survival philosophy of rural people,which links with the special environment in the central plains,such as the philosophy of running,face and humbleness,etc.From the microcosmic point of view,these survival philosophies aim to protect the people's personal interests within a small scope.But in the long run,these philosophies damage to the equity and justice in our social environment as well as the rural people's mental health.After careful observation,Li Peifu takes notes these survival philosophies in his novel,whose intention of criticism and anxiety is obvious.The third chapter expounds the unique artistic value of rural characters,which not only includes his special means of artistic expression,such as the type of narrative by parallel characters or analogy between the plants and people,but also embeds the comparison of achievements in different periods,which implies the literary value and realistic significance.From literary level,his writing about rural life and its people in the ZhongYuan area mix main features of the two genres of Chinese vernacular novel,but at the same time he also created unique village characters,who are very special in the Chinese contemporary literature history.From the practical significance,Li Peifu admires the positive law of morality of rural people and criticizes their spiritual defects at the same time,which condense his close attention to Chinese peoples' spiritual problems and his strong sense of responsibility.Li Peifu's writing shows huge independence on rural experience when he shapes the rural figures.Rich and unique country experience make Li Peifu form his distinctive style in literary circles.But at the same time,rural experience also brings creative disadvantages that cannot be ignored.For example,the repeated writing of the same kind of figures is one of the performances.Therefore,in today's literary world,when the great majority calls for YuJun's literary breakthrough,how to correctly handle the relationship between the rural experience and literary creation to realize the breakthrough and transcendence is worth thinking for Li Peifu as well as other writers in HeNan.
