As a banner character in the literary circles of Taiwan.Chen Yingzhen has made a unique self-examination and reflection in the face of social transformation and historical changes.His novels present us the turbulent Taiwan society in the period of national division of the nation and the separation of land.As a "mirror of Taiwan society",he incisively and vividly shows the plight of Taiwan’s life and their mental predicament.From the happiness and sorrows of the little people to the social transformation,from the variation of humanity in the history of sinful to the miserable conditions of the "Aphasia" who are mocked by history,these reflect his caring for "human".This consistent humanitarian spirit has been enriched with his writing.Through the characters in his novels,Chen Yingzhen presents the tragedy of the little people to the public,the alienation of the people in the capital age,and the people who are mocked in social history,and so on.With the support of rational spirit,he analyzes social history in a more sober way,focuses on the painful experiences of individuals,and observes the underlying poignancy in a parallel perspective.At the same time,his humanitarian stance is also reinforced by his strong involvement in consciousness.Although,Chen Yingzhen’s novels’ themes are intersected with other authors,but his style and position is different from others.He tends to choose a more moderate way to express his concern for people.In the face of historical problems,he can put aside the catharsis of subjective emotions,and analyze society and history in an objective and rational way.He goes deep into the misery of the little people and focuses on caring for those who have been fooled by history.Even in the face of social transformation,he can stick to his own rational humanitarian stance,and to rethink the problem of "human beings" in reflection and introspection ways.Writers’ creative position is often influenced by many factors.Chen Yingzhen’s humanitarianism,on the one hand,comes from his Christian family background.In his heart,the idea of love and salvation is deeply rooted,and it makes him more willing to give the hope of encouragement to the painful little people.On the other hand,Chen Yingzhen is influenced by Lu Xun and the "Lift-wing literature",and these have enhanced his rational and humanitarian stance.In addition,his involvement in civil activities and social practice is enriching his humanitarianism more deeply,and his childhood trauma and political experiences are further sublimate his humanism.In the face of social transformation and historical vicissitudes.Chen Yingzhen consistently keeps focusing on the "people" in history and society.The spirit is the belief that Chinese intellectuals need to follow and is also an indispensable spirit candle.This unique humanism is significant for cross-strait writers of their creation.
