Academic procrastination refers to the delays associated with learning and research and(or)mandate and activities for learning plays an important role,prevalent among college students and have a negative impact on the students ' academic achievement,self-efficacy,and mood.The inflencing factor of academic prorastination Influence both appears to the internal individual causes and the role of situational factors.Generally accepted view is that academic procrastination is common influenced by individual differences and the tasks character which i a combination of cognitive,affective,and behavior.It is noteworthy that many theories and studies propose that procrastination is linked to impulsivity.Task character is the main situational resource of the procrastination,such as the task aversiveness and fear of failure.Therefore,this study baesd on the effect of impulsive personality traits is aim to explore the effects of tast character on academic procrastination,in particular the task sequence preferences and the time interval.Study 1,we adopt the questionnaire to explore development of impulsive personality traits of college students status and academic procrastination,to explore the relationship between impulsiveness and the academic procrastination.Results show that,academic procrastination and impulsiveness were significantly positively correlated,especially positively associated with non-functional impulsiveness but neggtively associated with functional impulsiveness.academic procrastination and non-planning impulsivity showed the most relevant(r=0.413),followed by attentional impulsivity(r=0.298),associated with the motor impulsivityof lowest level(r=0.216).Study 2,2×2 between-subjects design,through the adapted PASS academic procrastination scale in preference scenario-sequence component to measure the difference academic procrastination tendencies of impulsiveness people in the task properties(worsen sequences and improving sequence).Results showed that,The main effect of impulsiveness is significant(F(1,120)=71.281;p<0.001,?2p=0.37).the high impulsiveness was significantly higher than the low.The main effect of task sequence preferences is significant(F(1,120)=16.414;p<0.001,?2p=0.12).the participants of high worsen sequence score more significantly than the lmproving sequence.There are interaction between the impulsiveness and task sequence preferences(F(1,120)=5.47;p< 0.05,?2p=0.037).Simple effect results found that,compared to the improving sequence,when the task sequence of the worsen sequence,high impulsiveness people were trying to demonstrate higher academic procrastination tendencies and the low impulsiveness' differences are not significant.Study 3,2×2 between-subjects design,we use the adopted PASS academic procrastination scale-time interval scale to measure the difference academic procrastination tendencies of academic procrastination tendencies of high impulsiveness in the task properties(task sequence preferences and the time interval).Results show that,The main effect of task sequence preferences is significant(F(1,116)=4.27;p<0.05,?2p=0.036);but there is not significant of the time interval(F(1,116)=1.34;p>0.05,?2p=0.011).There are interaction between task sequence preferences and time interval(F(1,116)=6.10;p <0.05,?2p=0.05).Simple effect results found that,in worsen sequence,when time intervals under four days,the high impulsiveness show higher academic procrastination tendenciesr than when time interval under one month.but when in the improving sequence group,interval situational differences are not significant.This shows that the academic procrastination tendencies is related to impulsiveness,especially positively associated with non-functional impulsiveness but neggtively associated with functional impulsiveness.In addition,the academic procrastinationare also under the influence of task character.In contrast to the low of impulsiveness,the academic procrastination tendencies of high impulsiveness are more vulnerable to the effects of of task sequence preferences and time interval.
