Xu Zechen,as the representative writer after the 1970s,has been writing more than 10 years.Since the beginning of the new century,his creative level has been on the horizon in the literary world.This paper,taking the writer Xu Zechen as a case study,aims to explore the rich connotation and unique meaning of the works,comprehend his thought about modern life's dilemma,rethink the plight of the writers after the 1970s,as well as find out the enlightenment significance to the creation of writers who are in the seventies.The paper is divided into four parts to discuss his novel.The first part is the introduction,which mainly summarizes the emergence of Xu Zechen in the context of literary criticism in the new century,the creation of the writers after the 1970s and Xu Zechen,as well as research status and the idea of this paper.The first chapter is the writing of "Flower Street",which mainly analyzes the common life,the historical change of "Flower Street",as well as the ethical value of cultural conflict during the process of urbanization.The creation of "Flower Street" series,to some extent is the reflection of local change and the urbanization process during nearly 30 years in China.He focuses on the effect on people in hometown and young people in modern society,and develops Hometown Novels' culture significance.The second chapter,taking "Beijing drifters" series of work as the research object,reveals the survival world of "Beijing drifters".It illustrates the era significance and distinctive meaning of the works.What's more,it explores the distinctive meaning form tenacious life texture,daily life details and night train image these three aspects.The writing of the "Beijing drifters"discusses the relations between the city of Beijing and outlanders living in Beijing,which reveals outlanders' living state and arouses modern people's reflection on spiritual wandering.The third chapter summarizes the significance and limitations of Xu Zechen's novels,and then points out the inspiration and reference for the writers after the 1970s.
