Study The Development And The Inheritance Of Chinese National Vocal Music From The On Singing Of Yuan Dynasty

On Singing is a theoretical work of classified study on vocal art done by musicians from China's Yuan Dynasty.It covers spectra from ancient singers to music appreciation,singing skills,vocal music education concept,and singing aesthetic,etc.It is a theoretical induction and summary of the singing performance phenomenon in and before the Yuan Dynasty and an instruction on singing performance in later ages.More importantly,It is a theoretical work left to later generations to substantially study and inherit ancient vocal music.Currently,research results of "On Singing" are mainly about studies on texts,traditional operas,and literature.But we can see few national vocal music techniques,vocal music theory system,and the inheritance of 1 vocal music monographs in later generations presented in "On Singing".Thus,this article has firstly studied the generation of "On Singing" from the perspective of Chinese national vocal music theory,mainly by using the science of historical documents in musical philology and logic method,organized the development vein of Chinese vocal music,explored the historical background of "On Singing" and revealed the inevitability of the creation of "On Singing" in Yuan Dynasty.Secondly,the article has studied "On Singing" from the perspective of national vocal music theory inheritance,by using the science of historical documents in music historiography and the method of bibliology and textual criticism in musical philology,for textual research on the whole lifetime of the author of "On Singing",and identification analysis on the existing version filiation of "On Singing".Through comparing different versions,the article has traced back to the original look of ancient book "On Singing",to lay foundation for researching "On Singing ' and have a deeper understanding of Chinese national vocal music theory.At last,the article has studied from the perspective of the development of Chinese national vocal music in "On Singing",by using the macroscopic and microscopic research methods to analyze the effect of "On Singing" on Chinese national vocal music through sorting out the an overall-specific structure relation to restore the appearance of Chinese national vocal music as far as possible.This article has placed "On Singing" under the macro background of the whole Chinese national vocal music history,preliminarily depicted the macroscopic rough outlines such as the general development situation of Chinese national vocal music,overview of Chinese national vocal music aesthetic ideology,general development situation of national vocal music in Yuan Dynasty,and educational concept of national vocal music in Yuan Dynasty.Then the article has studied the status of "On Singing" in these rough outlines,paid attention to researching the transitional function of this book,and explained from multiple aspects,which is more inclusive than previous research results.Meanwhile,the article has combined "On Singing" with Chinese national vocal music performance theory to research its referential significance for vocal music development and inheritance in later generations so that the research result has greater realistic significance.
