Translation Report On Chapter 11 Of The Basic Criminal Law

With the interest and research direction in translation of legal texts,the author,under the guidance of the supervisor,chose the book of Basic Criminal Law(chapter 11)as the research project.Chapter 11 mainly focuses on the constitutional rights after arrest.This report described the process and preparation of translation,analyzed the features of the original text,and employed the adaptation theory to discuss how to solve legal translation problems and provide precise and proper translation,including the methods for translation of nouns and verbs and translation of adverbial clauses,objective clauses,attributive clauses and long and difficult sentences.The translation of Basic Criminal Law was intended to serve as guidance to the reform of judicial system in China.It was also attempted to make some contributions to the practice and theories of legal document translation.
