The Illness Narration Of Su Tong's Fiction

It has been a long tradition of illness narration in the literature.The disease is not only a purely physical phenomenon in the literary,but a kind of expression of the writer's literary ideal and attitude.Due to the history soil of Internal and external problems,the illness narrative of literature became the inevitable choice of Chinese modern literature.Writers represented by Lu Xun from different perspective and standpoint,exposed the weaknesses of nationality and social ills.It showed the value standpoint of enlightenment,profound suffering consciousness and the writer's humanistic care.All of this has had a profound effect on contemporary writers,and one of typical is Su Tong addicted to the south world.Lots of sick characters and much feeling derived from disease in the novels are associated with elegant language,narrow damp southern environment and many other factors such as violence,dark,revenge,death,forming the seductive and complex temperament in the novels.This thesis will be based on related theories of literature and disease to deeply analyze disease in the novels by close reading.It tries to explain the way and significance of illness narrative,dig the metaphor behind the disease involving moral,ethical and life.Thinking about the realistic directivity of illness narrative can make us more deeply realize the art and ideological value of the novels.At the same time,putting Su Tong on the whole chain of Chinese modem and contemporary literature let us discuss the inheritance and continuity of the new period literature from modern literature and the pioneering and unique literary value of new period literature.This paper consists of introduction,text and epilogue.The introduction first teases the relationship between disease and literature,the present research situation of diseases narrative in Su Tong's novel.Then it elaborates the topic significance and the research train of this paper.The text is divided into three parts.The first chapter discusses the reasons of illness narrative including disease memory in childhood experience,traditional Chinese and western disease writing,the pioneer attitude and the imaginary enthusiasm.The second chapter analyzes usual illness narrative types in Su Tong's novel by close reading.Next this paper discusses that the writer how to construct physical and psychological pain,and portraits of people how to lose subjectivity in disease but liberate in the depraved and destructive world.The third chapter discusses the plot meaning,aesthetic meaning and metaphorical meaning of illness narrative on the basis of analysis.Conclusion summarizes the full text.
