This essay studies the influence of contemporary art on independent animation,analyzes the influence of contemporary art’s value and evaluation system and contemporary context on independent animation and how independent animation can find its own position in contemporary art,and then make cautious and optimistic outlook.According to the relative theories of animation and video theories,combined with the experience of analysis of independent animation films and observing relative exhibitions,the writer has developed a general understanding of contemporary art and independent animation through literature research and thinking method by observing,organizing and analyzing the references.And then combined with individual thinking and research,the paper is written.The value of contemporary art is embodied in the relationship between contemporary man and society,and contemporary art encourages people to reflect on the existing ways of thinking and behaviour,reflecting on the pursuit of independence,freedom and initiative.The word “independent” positioning to “independent animation” in this paper also has this kind of longing and goal.In this era of new media becoming the mass lifestyle,contemporary art context is open and diverse.No doubt,Animation has attracted more and more artists’ attention.Under the influence of contemporary art,independent animation presents “independence” is not only a rich media experiment,but the spirit of independent artists,free personality,pure conscience,the love of truth and completely firm and other personal character present.It’s the unique voices of artists.The“diversification” is not only a rich expression,but also respect for the existence which is different from their own,the resistance of cultural assimilation and monopoly.
