Study Of Modern Chinese Discourse Marker ‘Yao Bu’

This dissertation analyzes the modern Chinese discourse marker ‘Yao Bu’ elaborately by enough amount of modern Chinese corpus and foreign students’ language studying corpus,also use and apply many kinds of linguistics relative theories for references.First,we make sure of in which conditions ‘Yao Bu’ can be a discourse marker,and analyze the four meanings of ‘Yao Bu’ in modern Chinese,and we believe ‘Yao Bu’ can be a discourse marker only when it means ‘suggestion’.Then this dissertation discusses the forming of the word ‘Yao Bu’ in history,and the grammaticalization procedure of its whole meanings later.In the later of this dissertation,we analyze the pragmatics features of the discourse marker ‘Yao Bu’,and with analyzing lots of corpus,we find different effects when it’s in different positions of a sentence,along with its textual function.At last,considering the using in foreign students’ thesis and daily life,we analyze the errors,and make some usable suggestions of correcting them.
