Documentary focuses on the record of realistic life and takes the real event and context as the objects.Documentary selects and combines these events and objects to express the idea of the creator.It is therefore a life-based realistic recording art.As a special type of documentary,documentary of people emphasizes the expression of people,conveying the humanistic spirit and value to the audiences.In the high-speed life,many young people have little knowledge about the traditional culture.Summarizing the practical process in producing the graduate work,The Old Tang,combining the relevant narrative theories,this paper analyzes the narrative strategy of documentary of people in terms of social and historical context,the story narrative,voice elements and so on.Combining the analysis of the work,some insight has been provided to the development of the documentary of people so as to provide some practical suggestions on the narrative art and techniques in the documentary of people.
