Whether in the development history of Tongcheng School or in the history of teaching education in late Qing dynasty to the Republic of China,Yao Yongpu could be regarded as an important figure.He had expressed and interpreted the literary thoughts consciously through the education works systematically,which had showed struggling and intermediation,facing the trend of the times and adhering to the Tongcheng context,reflected the unique light.Besides,the prose creation had largely reflected his literary thoughts connotation and significance.Considering that the previous studies were less involved and cognized,this paper intended to discuss this issue specifically.The full text was divided into five parts.The introduction part mainly summarized the related research results of study of Yao Yongpu's literary thoughts and poems,as well as the research methods and significance of this thesis.The first chapter summarized the literary thoughts in QiFengShuYuanDaWen.Ascend the history of QiFengShuYuan,we could conclude that QiFengShuYuan followed the teaching method of BaiLuDongShuYuan.Based on the historical material of the QiFengShuYuanDaWen,we would restore the real situation of the literature teaching in the QiFengShuYuan,and we would come to conclusion that there were about 19 students and the teaching content involved on the ancient works of all four parts,as well as political content.The teaching of QiFengShuYuan was a concentrated show of YaoYongpu's traditional teaching practice which had a profound historical background,of which the foundation of its literary thought.And it highlighted the broad vision of Chinese and Western and the new trend.The second chapter summarized the transformation of literary thoughts from GuoWenXue to WenXueYanJiuFa.GuoWenXue was the literary works compiled by Yao Yongpu in the new school teaching.Due to the different publishing time,it had two different versions.Comparing the differences,we could see the changes in literary thoughts.Meanwhile,GuoWenXue contacted with LunWenJiYao closely,which could research the premier version of GuoWenXue.What's more,WenXueYanJiuFa based on the GuoWenXue,which was the crystallization of modern university literature and education practice.The books were important literary education works which were adept to the school system reform in the late Qing Dynasty,which had witnessed Yao Yongpu's literary thought gradually mature course and reflected its teaching environment in Peking University,as well as the real development of ancient prose in new era.The third chapter investigated the practice of literary thoughts.YaoYongpu's literary thought had been gradually formed and systematized in the course of literary education practice.His poem and prose embodied the connotation and purport of literary thought,showing the unique appearance.To some extent,we could conclude that literary theory and creation were closely linked.The conclusion sumed up the full thesis,which summarized Yao Yongpu's literary thoughts and creation and related issues in the history of Tongcheng and the academic history of the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.
