| Witnesses’ the judgment of confidence for testimony(JOC)is of great significance to the judicial justice.Feedback has important influence on JOC.According to the Selective Cue Integration Framework,feedback includes three stages.Among them,the evaluation in 3 stages,It evaluates whether the interference information will affect JOC,Its main consideration is the credibility of the information.In the current research,the credibility of information mainly from the authority of information providers and support information conformity number to measure.However,few studies have analyzed how eyewitnesses assess the credibility of the authority and the credibility of the herd and also lacks a systematic explanation of the mechanism of negative feedback.Therefore,this study examines the role of both authority and conformity in positive feedback.This study also explores the role of authority and conformity in JOC under negative feedback,and complements the assessment phase of witnesses’ negative feedback in the Selective Cue Integration Model(SCIF).The research includes the experiment 1 and experiment 2.Experiment 1 provided to participants positive feedback,2 provided negative feedback.Both experiments require subjects to watch a criminal video,answer a series of video questions,and make JOC judgments.Subsequently,Subjects receive different types of feedback: Police high conformity,police low conformity,child high conformity and child low conformity.And once again to make a JOC judgment.This study found that authority and conformity influence the assessment of eyewitness feedback and also affect the accuracy of judgment.Negative feedback,like the process of positive feedback assessment of credibility,witnesses also assess credibility from the authority and conformity standards.Unlike positive feedback,negative feedback is only when the authority and the conformity are at a high level,the witness’ s judgment will be affected. |
