Generativity Influence On Subjective Well-being

People enter into the stage “generativity versus stagnation” at 25 years old.The conception of “generativity” had been put forward by Erikson what is of vital importance.But the definite conception has not be unified.For the purpose of increasing the amount of domestic research,the study will present conception of generativity and making up generativity scale,researching the influence from generativity to subjective well-being.The study obtained the result of interview for 31 adults and made up the generativity scale what includes 43 questions.The scales are handed out to 20 adults for the purpose of getting suggestion for the language expression.The scale includes 40 questions had been work out after the discussion with psychology experts.The scales are handed out to 210 adults for the purpose of exploratory factor analysis.After that the scales are handed out to 243 adults for confirmatory factor analysis.The scales are handed out to 291 adults for the research on generativity influences on subjective wellbeing.There are three conclusions about this research.Firstly,the study summarized the opinion and definite that generativity is paying concerning about offspring,peers and society in the method of producing,creating,love and bringing up by the desire of creation,regeneration and continuation.Secondly,the generativity scale has good reliability and validity.The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis all meet a criterion.The model had extremely good fitting degree.The scale obtained 5 factors,they are “spiritual production”,“material production”,“own offspring”,“others' s offspring”,“society contribution”.Thirdly,the research found a positive correlation between generativity and subjective well-being.Generativity has a positive influence on subjective well-being.The factor “spiritual production”,“own offspring”,“ society contribution” can obviously influence the subjective well-being and forecast it.
