With the development of society and the acceleration of economic globalization,the communication and cooperation among nations becomes more and more frequent.Therefore,the society is increasingly longing for talents with professional and skilled personnel with global vision.This thesis mainly talks about the application effects of culture elements in non-English majors' English reading class,it focuses on digging into the cultural elements of the text,so that students can learn the English texts in a real language environment.Language and culture are inseparable,so English teaching should not only focus on the language skills but also pay attention to the intercultural communicative abilities.Language is the communicative tool and the carrier of culture.Modern foreign language teaching should pay attention to using the language as a tool,which can be a means of teaching,and it can cultivate students' ability to read the materials more efficiently in the target language.Hence,culture teaching is necessary in modern foreign language teaching.Based on the schemata theory and research,there are two questions put forward:What are the effects of culture teaching on the non-English majors'interest in English Reading class in higher vocational college?What are the effects of culture teaching on non-English majors' English reading comprehension?The subjects of this experiment are the finance professional majors in Anhui Audit College who are in Grade One.And the author did the research mainly by using the questionnaires,interviews and the experiment.During the research,the author needs to collect the scores'results of the students' English reading pretest and post-test.As for the results of the data,the author will deal with them by using SPSS 21.0 data analysis software,-in which the independent sample test,the related sample test and the statistical analysis of frequency distribution will be used to analyze the results of the students' English reading interests and their English reading tests.After the experiment,the author finds that cultural elements actually not only have positive effects on improving students interests in English reading class,but also have the positive influence on students' English reading grades,because their replies to the questionnaires are much more positive than before and their English reading grades are improved a lot after the experiment.
