The study gives out 560 questionnaires in total in two colleges of Hunan.Among them,503 questionnaires are effective,the effective response rate is 89.9%.The questionnaire includes three parts.The first part is about personal information survey,including the student's gender,family origin,parents' income and degree of education etc.The second part is step-shaped subjective social status questionnaire,and the third part is General Well-being Schedule.Using the correlation analytic method,one-way analysis of variance and regression analysis modeling,the hypotheses of the study have been confirmed:(1)There is no significant differences between subjective well-being and gender,family origin respectively,F = 1.03,p = 0.42 >.05,F=1.28,p = 0.12 >.05.(2)There is a significant positive correlation between family income and subjective well-being: r = 0.4,p < 0.01;(3)Parents' educational level is also conspicuously related with subjective well-being,r = 0.24,p < 0.01;(4)Significant relationship exists between Subjective social status and subjective well-being,r=0.094,p< 0.05;(5)Subjective social status mediates the relationship between parents' degree of education and students' subjective well-being.mediating effect accounts for 7.29% of the total effect.Subjective social status is also a mediator variable between family income level and college students' subjective well-being,and mediating effect accounts for 7.42% of the total effect.In conclusion:(1)College students' subjective well-being is mostly above average,and there is no significant difference between subjective well-being and gender,family origin respectively;(2)Family income and subjective well-being have a significant positive correlation,and parents' degree of education and subjective well-being also have significant positive correlation;(3)Subjective social status and subjective well-being have significant positive correlation;(4)Subjective social status mediates the relationship between parents' degree of education and students' subjective well-being;Subjective social status is also a mediator variable between family income level and college students' subjective well-being.
