The feedback studies on the second language writing have been widely carried out.Effective and appropriate feedback will help improve students' writing skill.Recently,in the light of fast popularization of the utility of internet, the integration of Internet and language education is therefore drawing gradually closer.Online feedback has drawn more researchers' attention in educational territory and is becoming a hot research topic for scholars and language educators both domestically and abroad.Nevertheless, most articles have been restrained on investigating the impact of online peer feedback on the writing of second language according to the difference of effects between online peer feedback and the traditional ways like face-to-face peer feedback.Few researchers have so far paid much attention to the effectiveness of online teacher feedback and online peer feedback on the L2(second language)writing. The effect of online peer feedback on the process-based writing needs to be further explored, and the difference of the effect between online teacher feedback and online peer feedback is to be discovered, hence, this study is worthy of performing. In this project,an experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of the online teacher feedback and online peer feedback on the development of writing skill. In detail, the project has been subdivided into three research questions(RQs)to solve:RQ1: Can online teacher feedback and online peer feedback improve the writing of second language? If the answer is yes,how much they do from teachers and peers, respectively?RQ 2: How are the revisions of students' writing influenced by the online peer feedback and online teacher feedback?RQ 3: What are students' attitudes toward online peer feedback and online teacher feedback on the L2 writing? To solve the three questions, two classes of College of Information,Shanxi Agricultural University were chosen to perform the experiment which lasted for two months. The 28 freshmen from the International Trade class were set as CG(control group),which would be treated with online teacher feedback, and the 30 freshmen from Accounting class were set as EG(experimental group),which would receive online peer feedback. In this experiment, instruments like pre-test,post-test and questionnaire have been applied, and SPSS will be used to calculate and analyze the data collected from the experiment. It has been found that the online peer feedback and online teacher feedback have great impact on the L2 writing. The students' writing skill has been improved with the application of online feedback from either teachers or peers. However,no significant difference on the writing skill has been observed for the two groups of students from the data analysis of the post-test.The reason might be that the students' writing skill is promoted by online peer feedback and online teacher feedback with their respective superiorities. Moreover, students in both groups have been able to incorporate the online feedback into their revisions, though they incorporate the online feedback distinguishably.Additionally, students in CG and EG have been able to make successful revisions with the help of the used feedback points, and both types of online feedback have been finally accepted and fancied by the most majority of students.Generally,it is found that the approach of the online feedback on second language writing is an useful way to promote writing skill at the moment. However, due to the limitations of existed conditions and the author's experience, the research is yet to perfect. For instance, the length of duration for the experiment was not long enough and the ability of dealing with data was to be increased.Great efforts are expected to be made to tackle these issues in the upcoming study.
