In today's globalization,Japanese "kawaii culture" phenomenon quickly spread throughout the world.People of all ages generally loved the cute things.Different cultures are also actively creating their own cuteness and symbols."Kawaii culture" has become a dark horse in contemporary popular culture.The collision between the"cuteness" and the contemporary art brought even spark a wonderful reaction.Inspired by "cuteness",contemporary artists cleverly break down the barriers between art and mass consumer culture.Indeed,an artifact with a "cute" image is often referred to as a naive,commercial,or secular work,and so on.These works in the art theory field are often controversial.However,Japanese contemporary artists who have been good at this path have succeeded in changing the "cuteness' from "taker" to "reformists" in the global Westernization environment,while creating a model of Japanese contemporary art and stimulating the voice of Eastern art.What is the meaning of "cuteness" in contemporary art?How can "cuteness" show its unique charm in the contemporary era?This article will start from the previous questions,explore the "cuteness culture" in contemporary art,and reveal its charm.
