A Study On The Creation Of Li Tuozhi's Historical Novels

Li Tuozhi is a writer who was active in the literary circles in the 1930s and 40s.His literary works are related to the historical novels,the old-style poetry and prose.Among them,the historical novels were the best.From 1939 to 1948,Li Tuozhi wrote fourteen historical novels,of which twelve papers were published in 1948 as Fenshu.In these historical novels,Li Tuozhi wanted to explore the real characters of the ancients.With the unique language art,Li Tuozhi created a number of vivid characters.At the same time,Li Tuozhi constructed a unique aesthetic conception with the narrative mode of modern novels,showing a new historical connotation.He got a unique style in the narrative of modern novels.However,the current study of modern historical novels has not fully realized the value of Li Tuozhi's historical novels.In this paper,based on the existing study of Li Tuozhi's historical novels,throughout all aspects of the novels,such as the theme,characters and narrative mode and language arts and so on.At the same time,the study of historical novels in Li Tuozhi's whole literary practice will enrich its significance in the history of literature.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into four chapters to discuss Li Tuozhi's historical novels:The first chapter deals with Li Tuozhi's life and his literary practice.Li Tuozhi served as a newspaper editor in the early stage,and after the outbreak of Anti Japanese War,he went to many places for anti Japanese war propaganda.In addition,Li Tuozhi also was imprisoned twice for political factors.These rough life experiences had great influence on Li Tuozhi's creation of Historical NovelsThe second chapter discusses the theme and characters of Li Tuozhi's historical novels.The theme of Li Tuozhi's historical novels mainly focus on two aspects:criticizing reality and exploring human nature.At present,many researchers focus their attention on the research of human nature,but there is little research on the critical theme.In this chapter,in order to highlights the uniqueness of Li's historical novels.the author makes an overall study on the theme of his creation,and compares with the other modern historical novels.The third chapter discusses the uniqueness of Li Tuozhi's historical novels from the perspective of narrative style and language arts.The modern narrative style made his historical novels generate their own aesthetic consciousness in the process of retelling history.At the same time,due to the profound influence of the classical literature and modern literary context,the language of Li Tuozhi's historical novel have specific style in the narration of modern historical novels.The fourth chapter will make a study of Li Tuozhi's whole literature practice,research on the inherent between his historical novels and old-style poetry,classical literature,to explore the significance of Li's historical novels in the modern literary history.
