| In the history of film,there are a lot of films are created based on literature.Some of the classic literature has even been adapted many times.In the 21 st century,as we come into the era of image,there are increasing demand for film and television play.Due to classic literature itself has great reputation and box office appeal,adaptation has become one of the most popular ways to make films.As the most famous detective novel,The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes,has been adapted so many times into film or TV series since it’s publishment.Different adapters in different ages using different adaptation strategies to create.Even all the works are based on Sherlock Holmes novel,they are utterly in different style.Among all these Sherlock Holmes films or TV series,there are two successful TV series—The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock.The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes were broadcast since 1984,and Sherlock were broadcast since 2010.They are very different works,but they both successed in their own age of time.By comparising these two works,I hope to analysis in the context of different era,the different adaptation strategies of the classic literature,and hopes to give some advice to the present adaption. |
