Abstract/Summary:
The action of request is a important activity in people’s daily life, whether in the workplace or in common life, the actions of request or please are very common. The way that us Chinese always used is directly questions, sometimes the specific form is relatively single. But in Japan, because of the mentality of "don’t want to bother other people",so they prefer to express requests not directly as us Chinese,so the expression is more tactful and richer than Chinese. In the process of translation,we can use different words or tones to distinguish the difference between different requests, expect to express the real mean of different requests. Therefore, the goal of this paper hopes to improve the quality of interpreting translation in "request" especially for the interpreting beginners. In view of this,I choose materials for different occasions and different psychological to research different requests speech.Hope that through this research to improve Japanese-Chinese interpreting beginners especially use Chinese as first language some reference. My research and practice has found that requests are very common in work or life. And because of the psychology “avoid losing face”,sometimes we have to use euphemisms.Depending on situations, the expression strategies are not same.Usually according to different levels and relationships,we tend to choose honorific and sentence combination of express euphemism request or use the simplified form of relatively. In some formal contexts, the language of translation is generally inclined to use objective, summoning words and sentences. In addition, according to the different interpersonal relationship degree of difficulty and request content,I found that use Chinese as native language and use Japanese as native language have different usage.Generally speaking,Chinese usually tend to use direct expressions while Japanese prefer to use the indirect approach of euphemism.Hope based on the investigation to this research will provide reference to the interpretation of a beginner whose mother tongue is Chinese.
