An important feature of the group age is that a person tend to be drowned into th e crowd,which means the group replace the individual.Consequently,escaping from t he group and being an individual is the biggest ambition of Wang Xiaobo and Wanger who is the hero of Wang Xiaobo's novels.Only if we escape from the group,can we t ouch the real spirits of oneself.However,the pursuit of oneself can be realized on the condition that the one must accept the group because of the need of references which can prove one's existence.In fact,escaping from the group means that we must be aw ay from the earthliness of ordinary life,but these earthly things stems from people's i nstinctive and unmodified anxiety.This paper are divided into four chapters to discuss about this topic.The first chapter consists of three parts:1)the description of the gro up age status,2)discussion about the individual spirit which is different from liberalis m,3)the issue of how the hero escape from the group ruling by means of the compari son of the group spirit and the individual spirit.The second chapter discuss which met hod the hero adopt to escape from the group in three parts:1)convey the truth of ones elf by means of the instant link with body,2)by exiling oneself from the living enviro nment which has already become the trap,3)giving the normalized body a way to esc ape.The third chapter employ a detailed discussion about the methods above.Finally,the last chapter reveal the paradox which is caused by the escape.
