Study On The Qian Tang River Seawall In Late Qing Dynasty

The Qian Tang River seawall as one of the great water conservancy project in ancient China,because of its special natural geography and great influence on the beneficial to the people's livelihood,Chinese dynasties government attached great importance to it.Since the Ming and Qing dynasties,the central and local governments spend a lot of money,and using a variety of ways such as donation,donate wire to raise funds to build the seawall project,especially in the Kangxi,Yong Zheng,Qian Long period of Qing dynasty,was willing to pour the force of a country to stabilize the seawall.In late Qing Dynasty,with the weakening of the central power,the changes of the political situation,construction and management of seawall engineering has also undergone some changes,such as raising funds on the seawall presents a diversified trend.And affected by the late Qing Dynasty in the last ten years of the local self-government movement,before and after 1908,Zhejiang intellectuals,gentry merchants and liberal officials,begin to actively seek the institutional reform of the seawall project,this reform has become a major turning point in the history of the Qian Tang River seawall project.But because of the defects of the existing research literature,the academic circles for the specific operation of the internal mechanism in the late Qing Dynasty and the relationship between the seawall engineering and political,social did not have a clear understanding.This paper will take the Qian Tang River seawall project in the late Qing Dynasty as the research object,overview of seawall engineering construction of natural and social environment,the construction situation of dynasties,focuses on the late Qing Dynasty construction especially the reform of seawall engineering.On this basis,one by one analysis of three factors in the Qian Tang River seawall project:officials,entry merchants,media.Personally think that the central government in the late Qing Dynasty in local affairs process,is restricted by factors such as gentry merchants,the media and so on.Many of its decision and implementation are often the result of coping with various factors.
