The Research On Chinese Four-panel Comic Creation

With the strong support of Chinese government in cultural industry's development,Cartoon&Animation,as an emerging cultural industry,has successfully attracted public attention in recent years.Four-panel comic,one kind of comics that the author would love to study as follows,has a great proportion of domestic comic industry.From certain perspective,although its form of expression is simple,the social functions cannot be easily underestimated:four-panel comic is not only a pastime to amuse the public,but also a sharp weapon to satirize the social ills,which may be called usmall size,big wisdom".However,through the author'^ research on four-panel comic in domestic,the achievements of theoretical research are badly short of.Hence,the author would like to apply variety of research methods to analyze and conclude the features as well as the current major disadvantages of four-panel comic in the creation content,methods and target groups,combining with excellent four-panel comic works in a case study,to look to the future of four-panel comic.This thesis will integrate with the professional knowledge of comic,aesthetics,psychology and semiology to provide a comprehensive analysis and further research on four-panel comic,so as to offer some useful inspirations for domestic cartoonists?as well as for the ongoing development of Chinese cartoon and animation market.
