Study On Integration Of The Square Dance Design And The Zhangzhou's "Drum Parasol" Dance

The "drum parasol" dance is the most representative and the most influential folk dance in Zhangzhou. In the local area, no matter large or small towns and villages, when the holidays come, this kind of dance can be seen in occasions such as the sacrifice to gods, or other happy moments, with dancers carrying drums, holding umbrellas, dancing to their content. But in recent years, with the development of society and the change of cities, many folk dance art has been quietly alienated from our life. The author believes that the development of modernization is useful and necessary, but for some of the traditional culture, it is devastating. Can we find effective methods to preserve it? Based on this thought, the author think of a possible solution, which is to integrate the mass culture and traditional folk dance, on the one hand, to create a new concept, on the other hand, to keep the traditional art handed down generations after generations. So in the author's opinion, combining the mass culture, square dance, and Zhangzhou folk art, drum parasol dance, to design a unique local square dance form, will not only let people get exercise and relax physically and mentally, can also help to keep and develop the traditional art.Through several field research and image and data collection, using document analysis, field investigation, morphological analysis, choreography and other methods, the author study Zhangzhou " drum parasol" dance and a square dance in many aspects, trying to integrate the props, actions, formation and other aspects, and to explore the role and significance of the new concept.
