Study On 1949-1989 Comic Books Creations Of Traditional Themes

This paper, consisting of five chapters, takes the 1949-1989 Chinese comic books of traditional themes as the research object. The first chapter is the introduction and provides the concept and category of the comic books of traditional themes, the research purpose and significance and the method, emphasis and innovation of the research. The second chapter expounds the social backgrounds, general development situation and expression techniques from painting of the 1949-1989 Chinese comic books. The third chapter analyses the impact that the “four olds” from the Cultural Revolution had to the comic books publication, ancient war materials and class warfare themes, the “three standouts” and “Gaodaquan” artistic principles. The fourth chapter explores the redevelopment phenomenon of the comic books, comic painters' personal styles and the expressive forms of the comic books and compares the different expression forms of the comic books of the same themes. The five chapter summarizes the publication amount, category and themes characteristics of the comic books and depicts the reference significance that the expression forms of the comics books of traditional themes have to the contemporary artistic creation.
