The Theory Of Husserl's Categorical Representation

My thesis is to explore the issue of categorical representation and mainly deal with its theoretical background,theoretical content and its dilemma.It also analyses the causes that lead to the dilemma which is Husserl's actual apprehension-content—apprehension schema during the period of Logical Investigations.In this schema,what we can find is just actual reell product which has been constituted and categorical representation also can't be illustrated clearly.But later Husserl breaks the restrictions of inner perception and apprehension-content—apprehension schema by the discovery of "retention" and this turn can be regarded as a overcome of this limit of this pattern and a deeper understanding of phenomenology.This thesis consists of three parts.Chapter 1 mainly introduces the background of categorical representation.Categorical representation is presented on the basis of intentional analysis of objectification and categorical intuition.It is a further explanation for categorical intuition,aimed at analyzing the constitution of categorical intuition.Chapter 2 mainly talks about the content of categorical presentation.It primarily solves two controversial problems:whether categorical intuition has its own representation and if so,what it is.But the two problems concern the understanding of inner perception and categorical abstract and this chapter especially illustrates the ambiguity of inner perception.Chapter 3 illustrates the dilemma that categorical representation confronts in the context of Logical Investigations and the overcome of the dilemma.As Husserl is confined to apprehension-content—apprehension schema,what he can find is just actual reell product,therefore,the deeper field of pure phenomenon is lost.But in about 1904/05,Husserl's discovery of "retention" in phenomenology of inner time consciousness reveals a new kind of constitution which is different from apprehension-content—apprehension schema and this is a limited rejection to this actual schema and a determination of range of its application.Finally we penetrate into the primordial territory of passive self-giving and categorical representation is also explained further by passive synthesis.
